Warren – John Radu Sr., 90, passed away March 25, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

John was born May 30, 1924 in Warren, Ohio the son of the late Eli and Rafila Radu.

John was a 1942 graduate of Leavittsburg High School. He retired from the Warren Post Office as a letter carrier after 30 years. He was the co-founder of Riverside Steel Inc. in Vienna.

John was a member of Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church and St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren. He enjoyed golfing and traveling.

He served in the United States Army WW II.

He is survived by his two sons John (JoAnne) Radu Jr. of Warren, George (Marilyn) Radu of Novelty, OH, three grandchildren Juliana Radu, Chris and Constantine Kiriakou, and a sister Cornelia “Nellie” Courtney of North Jackson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Catherine Radu whom he married September 26, 1948 and passed away August 10, 2013, a grandson John Thomas Radu, a brother Eli Radu and three sisters Helen Oliu, Mildred Suroiu and Mary Hogan.

Family and friends may call Friday, April 3 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Saracusta Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren and Saturday from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church.

Service will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church with Fr. James Barkett officiating.

Entombment will be in Pineview Memorial Park in Warren.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John’s name to Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church, 1836 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
