Warren – Mary G. Stan, 88, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at her residence.

She was born March 19, 1927, in Warren, Ohio the daughter of the late Samuel and Elena Gania.

She was a June 1945 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. She retired from Warren City Schools after working in the cafeteria at Warren G. Harding for twenty years and had previously worked in tabulating department at the Warren Telephone Company for ten years after graduating.

Mary was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church and Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid sports fan and had season tickets for forty five years to watch her son Robert and grandson Rocco play for the Warren G. Harding Panther/Raiders.

She also enjoyed watching her grandsons Craig and Kyle play for the Howland Tigers. She loved The Ohio State Football, except when they played The Michigan State Spartans, where Rocco continued his career. Her favorite pro-teams were the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Indians. She loved doing the daily puzzles in the tribune, scratch-off lottery tickets and an occasional trip to the casino. Her whole life was her grandchildren and their activities.

She felt she was blessed to stay home and raise her children for fourteen years prior to returning to the work force.

She is survived by her three children Robert (Jill) Stan of Niles, Elaine (Dale) Cironi of Warren, and Mark(Maria) Stan of Liberty, seven grandchildren Ryan (Jen) Stan, Jason (Jenna) Stan, Craig Stan, Kyle Stan, Rocco (Allison) Cironi, Nicholas Cironi and Jena Cironi, and two great grandchildren Ava Stan and Gianna Cironi, and a brother George (Virginia) Gania of Warren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl P. Stan whom she married January 28, 1951 and passed away December 9, 1995, and a sister Helen Rimar.

Family and friends may call Monday, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m. Saracusta Service and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church in Warren.

A Service will be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Church with Fr. James Barkett officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mary’s name to Holy Resurrection Romanian Orthodox Church, 1836 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio 44483.
